Watercolor can be seen as a subtractive process, the white paper being the only light. So what is not painted is just as important as what is. It’s critical then to identify the areas of lightest lights, darkest darks, and mid-tones. In this value study, reflections and shadows are depicted from white to black.
The original Watercolor Painting is 9″ x 12″ and was completed by Sara Morales in 2021.
